The Household Plant You Should Own, Based On Your Sun Sign

Aries: Low Maintenance Lovelies

March 21 – April 19

Aries are a fiery and impulsive sign who like plants that require minimal effort, as they are always on the go. The caveat to finding the ideal plant for the rambunctious ram is that while they require plants that aren’t high maintenance, they want greenery that has roots to grow and take on a life of its own. After all, Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and likes to see all living things flourish gloriously through time alongside them. It’ll be their pleasure and one of the greatest experiences of an Aries life to see their plant sprout.

Taurus: Lover of Lush Greenery

April 20 – May 20

As an earth sign and lover of romance, sensual Taurus must be surrounded by roses and succulent greenery at all times. Pink roses are their signature flower, as it represents Venus who is their planetary ruler. Being that Taurus is the first earth sign of the zodiac and their birthday falls in the spring, they will flip over an herb garden in their dwelling. The lush greenery and fresh rich smells will keep the hearts and spirits of Taurus high all year long. They’ll be more open to love as a result, as if the Bull needed a reason to be.

Geminis: The One that Needs all the Options

May 21 – June 20

Citrus is the essence associated with Mercury, who is Gemini’s planetary ruler. Being that Mercury rules the mind and communication, it’s no wonder that they’ll opt for a plant that relieves tension within the head and makes everyone less heady. But, in case dualistic Gemini feels like switching things up (as they often do), then the mutable zodiac sign will be flexible in their choices by opting for a Lucky Bamboo Trellis or a Bromeliad Antonio to ensure they can have fun and engage with their lovely plants.

Cancer: As Guarded and Prickly as a Cactus

June 21 – July 22

The crab has a tough exterior and takes their time in letting others in. Therefore, it makes total sense that they’ll find a sense of emotional comradery in the cactus (due to the fact that it’s prickly on the outside) and parlor palm because it’s a special plant that is great for a select few. Once someone has made their way into their hearts, Cancers will show their deep sentimental side which is why a peace lily plant is needed to help avoid emotional confrontations as one becomes acquainted with the tender garden that resides within their sweet, beautiful hearts.

Leo: Like Royalty and Artsy

July 23 – August 22

Little known fact: Like most people, the lion has a passion for decadence and a simpler, more refined palate in their artistic vibe. Leos have a reputation for being over the top, which is why they’ll be inclined to the majesty palm plant (due to its wide statement leaves) and an amazing terrarium. Yes, they like plants like the juniper bonsai because the ornamental factor speaks to their dramatic need for flair in their home decor. Leos also have an innate creative side that will relish in having a simple herb garden in their dwelling as a source of artistry and abundance.

Virgo: Creative and Earthy

August 23 – September 22

Virgos like citrusy essences, as they help to battle out all the Mercurial blunders and problems (especially during Mercury retrograde). Therefore, it’s a no-brainer that they’ll be attracted to the lime tree immediately. But, that doesn’t mean that their creative and earthy side won’t adore the ficus bonsai tree (treating the bonsai tree will be a great routine for Virgo to do everyday as a way to reduce anxiety, stress, and over-analyzing matters with their analytical minds) or the hanging air terrarium. Virgo’s simple tastes may incline them to incorporate the ZZ plant into their decor for a fresh look.

Libra: Bring on the Love

September 23 – October 22

Libras are known to be lovers of love and nice things (we mean plants!). Therefore, their harmonious and cooperative nature will be aligned with the peace lily floor plants (because they speak to long term commitments and 100 years of love) and the purple orchid (which represents strength and tenderness). These quality flowers will add beauty to the home and tranquility to the mind. The string of pearls plant and hoya heart succulent are two other lovely lush plants that goes well with the aesthetic of airy Libra, who surrounds themselves with beauty, charm, and grace at all times.

Scorpio: Always Growing and Evolving

October 23 – November 21

Scorpios leave an impression on everyone they encounter (like the spider plant), due to their intense nature. Plus, they are also known to be super transformative and evolutionary. In fact, they are one of the few zodiac signs who enjoy growing as people. Therefore, they’ll want to house a snake plant, red anthurium, or devil’s ivy plant in their dwelling, to remind themselves to have patience in their healing and metamorphic journey. Once these plants are in full bloom, it’ll remind Scorpio about how far they have come in their life and how proud they should be.

Sagittarius: Bring on the good vibes!

November 22 – December 21

Sagittarius is a mutable sign that that brings luck to those who inhibit their traits and qualities, as they are ruled by the wonderful planet Jupiter. Therefore, Sag needs to be surrounded by positive vibes at all times — in case they need extra luck when hedging bets, taking risks, and going on philosophical travels throughout the world. This fiery sign will find solace and joy from lucky bamboo plants, as well as connecting to the succulent garden that is wondrous and brilliant. In case they’re longing for adventure, they can opt to have the safari animal succulent at home.

Capricorn: Fortune and Luck

December 21 – January 20

Capricorns are known to be workaholics, which is why they’ll always want a money tree or juniper bonsai plant in hand at their home office or in their living space (to ensure that work and cash flow easily to them). And, in case they never leave their desk, then the monstera deliciosa floor plant is great to detox the energy or stale air that surrounds them. A devil’s ivy plant requires little care, but gives a lot back. This will be a great match for the sea-goat whose head is always focused on paperwork or responding to their emails.

Pisces: Mystical and Healing Greens

February 19 – March 20

Pisces are the most mystical sign of the zodiac. A prayer plant will allow them to embrace their spirituality in their dwelling or office throughout the day. Plus, it will allow them to dive deep into their intuition when making major decisions and their personal life and business matters. Pisces are also the healers of the zodiac, which is why an aloe vera plant is a deal for them because aloe vera mends wounds and burns. Like orchids, Pisces rely on the water as a life source. When together, they will share their hearts and emotions.
